TVET PROGRMS
Context
TVET PROGRMS
Prolonged droughts, crises, cyclones, and poor infrastructure and public service in Horn of Africa have resulted in widespread negative social and economic consequences that have hampered the development of the Somali people's livelihood asset base.
Much of the humanitarian and development assistance provided to Somalia and Somaliland over the last 25 years has lacked the long-term vision required to ensure a smooth transition into post-war development. Economic assistance is frequently given in the form of cash-for-work programs and short-term job creation initiatives. Although potentially lifesaving, such approaches are frequently only useful in achieving short-term goals. Somalia is currently in a post-war recovery phase, during which it is critical to focus on long-term, developmental goals. This stage of Somalia’s recovery has enormous potential and offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for new beginnings. It is critical that development initiatives consider the need for long-term, sustainable approaches in order for this potential to be realized and utilized that are owned and led from local.
Based on the above context HEFO is forwarding and encouraging to implement a TVET programs.
