Horn Environmental Organization (HEFO) is a non-governmental, non-profit established in 2021 by experts from across the Horn of Africa, including Tanzania, Somaliland, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
HEFO promotes sustainable development in livestock, fisheries, agriculture, and water management. We work to safeguard ecosystems and empower communities to sustainably manage natural resources through innovation and evidence-based programming.

OUR PRIMARY GOAL
Livelihood
Our primary goal is to build the capacity of communities to effectively utilise, diversify, and strengthen their livelihoods, enabling individuals and households to generate multiple income streams.
Environment
Promote climate-smart livelihoods (climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable fisheries). Support environmental protection and restoration such as soil conservation and mangroves restoration.
