Horn Environmental & Fisheries Organization (HEFO) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 2021 by a team of experts from across the Horn of Africa — including Somaliland, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania.
We promote sustainable development in fisheries, agriculture, livestock, and water management — safeguarding ecosystems and empowering communities through innovation, evidence-based programming, and participatory governance.

OUR PRIMARY GOAL
Livelihood
Our primary goal is to build the capacity of communities to effectively utilise, diversify, and strengthen their livelihoods, enabling individuals and households to generate multiple income streams.
Environment
Promote climate-smart livelihoods (climate-resilient agriculture, sustainable fisheries). Support environmental protection and restoration such as soil conservation and mangroves restoration.
